Mr. Samir Bagalkote is a versatile, accomplished systems engineering practitioner with 20 years of experience in technologically challenging projects. With sharp problem-solving skills and an extensive background in research, he has led, and supervised activities across the entire lifecycle, including sophisticated product developments and project deliveries focused on product innovation.

Samir earned his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Shivaji University and a Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Technology from Amaravati University. He also attained a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from Technion Israel Institute of Technology, Israel.

He has given various technical talks on the importance of systems engineering to academia and industry across multiple platforms in India (including the PMI Pune Chapter). He is currently associated with various start-ups in Pune as a consultant in Systems Engineering and New Product Development Initiatives.

For the past four years, Samir has been associated with Griffyn Robotech Pvt. Ltd in leading a cross-functional team in designing and developing AI Vision-based Robotic systems, AUV, and WNS-based Ground Surveillance Systems for various defense applications.
He has one individual granted an Indian patent, one granted a US patent, and four other inventions filed for US patents with Griffyn Robotech.

Before Griffyn Robotech, he led various R&D projects in designing and developing complex defense sub-systems in the Land and Naval domains at Mahindra Defence Systems. Such projects included Systems Engineering Planning, Requirement Engineering, Synthesis & Review of System Architecture, Analysis of Alternatives, Modelling, Simulations, and System Testing & Verification. Samir has also designed and developed various composite armor solutions for personal and vehicle protection.

Samir has been resourceful in heading overall new product development functions, including requirement analysis, solution architecture, finalizing specifications, detailed design, D-FMEA, prototype development, testing, reliability analysis, production support, vendor management, quality management, field quality & field failure improvement activities. He has helped organizations implement the SE Life Cycle and Project Management processes for streamlining the Design, Development, Integration, and testing of complex systems. He has a proven track record of developing and delivering Software-Intensive AI-Machine Vision, Mechatronics, Robotics, and Industrial Automation products. He has a strong knowledge of plastics, polymers, ceramics, and advanced materials and manufacturing processes.
